The DiabetiHelp® line and its valuable ingredient – chitosan
Chitosan is a substance derived from the shells of crustaceans, with a structure similar to hyaluronic acid. It stands out for its valuable regenerative properties, supports wound healing, and helps maintain optimal skin hydration, which translates into improved elasticity.
DiabetiHelp® for Diabetic Foot Care
Diabetes causes fluctuations in blood sugar levels, leading to neuropathy and poor circulation. Diabetic foot is a complication that affects up to 10% of diabetics. Ulcers can develop on the feet, which are difficult to heal and are prone to infection. Improper care and treatment can even lead to limb amputation. Therefore, in addition to regulating blood sugar levels, it’s essential to take proper care of diabetic feet. With this in mind, two products have been developed: a diabetic foot gel and a cleansing gel for the feet.
Diabetic foot wash gel is used for daily foot care. It intensely moisturizes and smooths the skin while refreshing and cleansing it. Chitosan nourishes and hydrates the skin, while lactic acid helps maintain the skin’s proper pH.
Complementing diabetic foot care is the diabetic foot care gel. It leaves a protective film on the skin to prevent excessive dryness. The gel reduces skin flaking, soothes itching and tightness, and provides moisturizing and calming effects. Urea and glycerin deeply hydrate the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. The moisturizing and prevention of excessive dryness has been confirmed in an application study with 90% of patients.
Skin of the face and body in diabetics
In order to care for the dry and irritation-prone skin of diabetics, we have developed a face & body wash gel, as well as a face & body lotion with chitosan.
These products are recommended for the daily care of dry and irritated skin. The gel gently cleanses the skin without causing dryness (as confirmed by 90% of surveyed patients).
The cream soothes irritation and reduces the feeling of burning and tightness. The addition of allantoin and panthenol smooths and softens the skin, while vitamin E helps maintain its good condition.
