Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are the most popular methods of cancer treatment, which give patients a chance to recover, but also have a number of side effects. All of them are available in the private label formula and may soon become part of your product portfolio. In Poland, thanks to the status of medical devices, they can be reimbursed to patients.

We want to take a special look at the lives of oncology patients, whose number increases every year. Fortunately, knowledge about prevention and treatment is increasing and many cancer cases are detected at an early stage of the disease, making the chance of recovery much greater. We also know that the disease and its treatment are not the only reason for patients’ discomfort. The basic form of cancer treatment, apart from surgery, is chemotherapy and radiotherapy. These methods are extremely effective, but they carry the risk of complications and side effects, e.g. skin lesions, erythema and exfoliation, discoloration and dry skin, hand-foot syndrome, damage to the sebaceous and sweat glands, dry mucous membranes, etc.
Sometimes side effects are felt to such an extent that they force patients to temporarily discontinue treatment. That is why proper protection and care of the skin during therapy is so important.

FOR THE SKIN RESCUE – VARIOUS FORMS AND ACTIONS
The cream that soothes skin during the hand-foot syndrome is the bestseller of the OncoMed ® line.
Hand-foot syndrome is a side effect of chemotherapy observed with many chemotherapy treatments currently used. Its symptoms may include: tingling, burning, numbness in the feet and hands, skin erythema and progressive pain. The skin becomes excessively keratinized, thickened and flaky, which may result in the formation of cracks and blisters. The cream soothing the hand-foot syndrome contains urea, which intensively moisturizes and softens irritated skin. Its rich formula also contains natural substances such as the Omega Plus 5 oil complex, Shea butter, silk proteins and the Syricalm™ complex of plant extracts. Thanks to these ingredients, the skin-epidermal barrier is rebuilt, which protects against the adverse effects of external factors.
Spray for skin after radiotherapy and Gel for skin after radiotherapy are medical devices intended for use on skin subjected to irradiation (radiotherapy), which may have a damaged skin-epidermal barrier after the treatment. The special formula of the spray contains numerous moisturizing, oiling and protective substances such as arginine, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, the Biolin P prebiotic and the unique Syricalm™ ingredient with anti-itching and soothing properties.
Skin undergoing cancer treatment is extremely exposed to UV rays. Oncology patients, even after therapy, are at particular risk of developing skin cancer, so they should protect their skin from the harmful effects of the sun. OncoMed® protective cream for face and body SPF 50+ (waterproof) is a cosmetic with filters ensuring high and effective protection. Thanks to the formula rich in moisturizing and softening ingredients (SyriCalm™), the product also reduces the feeling of dry and tight skin and burning sensation.
The OncoMed® line also includes lip balm (in two flavors). Thanks to perfectly selected ingredients (lanolin, OmegaPlus, vitamin E, cottonseed oil), it intensively moisturizes the delicate skin of the lips and prevents it from drying and cracking.
DRYNESS OF MUCOUS MEMBRANES
One of the consequences of oncological treatment may be xerostomia, commonly known as dry mouth. It includes a set of symptoms resulting from the loss of salivary secretion from the salivary glands, which is manifested by insufficient oral hydration, taste disturbance, difficulties in speech and swallowing, and a feeling of itching and burning. OncoMed ® oral cavity coating gel is a new medical device that (thanks to Musocave SG) coats and protects the oral mucosa while maintaining its appropriate level of hydration. Reduces the feeling of dryness and improves comfort during the day and night.
The vaginal mucosa is also exposed to undesirable effects of oncological treatment. Many patients experience symptoms such as dryness, atrophy, itching, burning and tissue tension, which make everyday functioning difficult. For these symptoms, we recommend Gofarm’s bestseller – Vaginal Gel (WH01), which, thanks to a formula rich in hyaluronic acid and lactic acid, binds to the secretions of the vaginal mucosa, creating a protective gel coating on their surface and ensures an appropriate level of hydration. EYELASHES AND EYEBROWS
A common side effect of chemotherapy is extreme weakening or loss of eyelashes and eyebrows. To help patients with this problem, we have created two new products: Eyebrow and eyelash serum and Eyelash growth serum with bimatoprost.
The products strengthen eyelashes and eyebrows, accelerate their growth and prevent their loss. The eyebrow and eyelash serum contains keratin, which is a structural protein of the hair, and the Widelash™ substance, which supports the anchoring of the hair. The eyelash growth serum contains bimatoprost, which works by prolonging the active growth phase of the hair, making it thicker and stronger.
